WHAT I BELIEVE: Dreams are a way for the subconscious to speak directly to us. We're more often aware of our conscious mind than its greater partner, the subconscious. Still, the subconscious speaks up when and as it can. It guides and directs us, warning of problems and urging us on to the greater things of life, frequently through our dreams. The conscious mind tends to disregard these messages of note. It over-analyzes and overlooks the obvious. Like the ego, it worries and frets. It prefers a psychiatrist or a priest to be our Voice of Authority, rather than the wisdom of our Higher Selves. "How can anything so important be inside us already?" we ask. Yet it is. Dreams are one of the simplest ways to get in touch with our own wisdom. Still, there's more to dreaming than interpreting symbols. I have little regard for those massive dream interpretation books. The information is virtually worthless and probably leads to more frustration than good. Why? Because we don't all dream alike. Each of us has a symbolic language unique to our lives. To dream of catching a fish, for instance, might mean one person's finances are going to increase, whereas for another it may mean spiritual gain, while for a third person it can be a simple warning not to go out in the rain because he'll catch a cold. A channeler is trained to recognize messages from the subconscious the same way a TV is designed to detect and decode satellite signals. In some way that science will never understand, the subconscious is shared by all of us. This is what makes any psychic activity possible. While we may not all subscribe to satellite television, the signals are there for us if we choose to access them. I believe that with a little work anyone can channel or interpret dreams. I've included a Dream Dictionary with sample meanings attached to some basic symbols to get you started. See what works for you, and learn to recognize your Higher Self when it speaks. © 2004 Transform Interactive Media
